ABOUT THE ARTIST

I retired from a thirty-year career in Social Work and Health Care Research to pursue my interests in Art and Photography.  For many years, I lived in the metropolitan area of Washington, DC, but now my primary home is Albrightsville, a small, scenic village in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. I spend much of my time traveling and taking photographs in the most picturesque settings that I can find. I particularly enjoy the Atlantic coast from Maine to Florida and the American Southwest.  When I am in Pennsylvania, I share my mountain home with my husband, three cats, and a dog.

I show and sell my Photographs in many Art Shows in Pennsylvania.

My work is also available in Art Galleries in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Since beginning my new career, I have won many honors and prizes. I cannot imagine doing anything that I would enjoy more.

          ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I have always loved the process of creating art and when I explored Photography, it quickly became my favorite medium.  When I look through the camera, the scene magically becomes a balance of light and dark, positive and negative spaces; and I see lines and patterns and then new details emerge.

I see things that were previously unnoticed.

My belief is that viewing the world through a camera is to really See, not just Look. My goal, as a photographer, is to engage my viewers and help them See something that they previously failed to notice. I hope this will increase their own creativity, awareness, and enjoyment of our world.

I use both film and digital cameras when shooting. For film, I prefer a Mamiya 6x7 Medium Format. After the film is processed, I scan the negatives and print digitally. My digital camera is a Canon 5D. I do all my own printing with an Epson 4800 printer, using archival inks and papers. All my photograph mounting, matting, and framing is done with archival materials.

A special "Thanks" to my good friend, Cristian Satana, of Santiago, Chile and Venice, Florida

for my portrait photograph.
